Hi there, I would like a bit of advices from someone in the know before I go off and but a new power adapter for my monitor. It is an old monitor made by Philips and the model was a "150S??". I know that this is old and i dont have any documentation on the spec of the LCD. I have managed to find out that the DC input is 6.5m and the monitor requires a 18 Volt AC/DC type adapter. My question is, would a laptop adapter be sufficient as I have not found any specicifically for monitors. Secondly would the universal monitor adapters the come with a variable voltage switch be adequate for my problem.

need to know the amps reqired besides the voltage to run the monitor. take the old adapter with you when looking for a new 1 as also have to have same size connector into monitor.

And make sure (very rare, but it happens) that the adapter has the same POLARITY as the original.

Look for the diagram that looks like a dot inside of a C.
