I thought it'd be stickied, but I guess not.

I just ordered a silver PS2 slim off eBay for $80. Before that, I ordered FF VII - IX for $80 for all of em. I want to play these games, but I also do not want to damage the discs. So then I heard about running copied versions on the PS2.

Is there a way to do this w/o modifying the PS2 directly? I'd like to keep all these items in Mint condition.

Thanks!

Well you could do a search on fmcb and esr to play backups on PS2

You could then check the "Install services" here.
http://bootleg.sksapps.com/tutorials/fmcb/

Unless you have a way to install it yourself, or a friend with a modded ps2, that is the best way to go.

No problem

Free McBoot is a method of running homebrew applications directly off a Memory Card as a stand alone loader.

No boot discs or modchips are required once installed. You will however need to have a method to install FMCB to the MC
Hence that is why I linked to the guides, and to the INSTALL SERVICES.

ESR is explained here.
http://psx-scene.com/forums/freevast/58441-esr-public-beta.html

Basically it is a program installed to the Memory card that allows you to backup your PS2 game using a program called "imgburn" to an ISO file, then patch the ISO with esr disc patcher v0.24

Then burn it again using "imgburn" and play it on the PS2 using ESR "dvd direct" version

Read it all so you understand.
