i burned ff x-2. the first time i tried it was ok but after that it became it became slower. and the disc has almost no scratches

is the problem the -dvd (dvd-r 8x speed ridata)
burning speed (2.4x)
or the ps2

sorry new to this, its my first time burning games

could be the disc but im not sure. I used to use memorex but now i use sony dvd+r for damn near everything. What program are you using to burn the games. I suggest nero. There is an option that allows you to "copy disc" I use that for PS2 games and its as easy as clicking a button. It copies the whole disc in its entirety. When its done reading the original it spits it out and you put in the blank disc. the whole thing is done for you once you click the "burn" button. I usually burn at 4x too.
