I have a modified ps2 that has the magic 2 in it.I am trying to play the original ps1 resident evil directors cut black disc that I borrowed from a friend.How do I load the game in I forgot how to do that.Also What can I use to make a copy of his game so I have it and do I load it the same way.Please help.Thanks....

NOTE: This is with the disk assumed in the tray and the tray closed:

Playstation 2 games

?Power up normally from STANDBY with RESET button. A single tap of the reset button is required.

Playstation 1 games & DVD Movies

?Power up from STANDBY with RESET button held until the blue EJECT light comes on.
?Then release RESET and the disk will boot.

NOTE: Turn off the PS2 (to standby) before changing Modes (PS1/PS2/DVD)

I tried what you said,I read the guide on how to back up the games.The only trouble I seem to have is where it says Check skip read errors, fast skip error blocks, and read subchannel data from current disc. Set the datatype to PSX.I can only check those 3 things thats it says to check but cant set the datatype to playstation,it only lets it say customize in the datatype.If I do change the datatype them I lose the skip read and fast skip error blocks and Im only able to have the read subchannel checked.It wont let me do both.what can I do to resolve this problem.Thanks...

You are probably using a newer version of Alcohol and your burner may not support the "fast skip error blocks"

I can only say to try it with the settings you have and see.

If it don't work, then just try the Playstation settings.

What version of alcohol should I be using.I have the version that is for blu rays.Also I backed up Resident Evil 2 and loaded it but I only get to the screen that is the playstation 1 logo and it just stays on that screen.I tried hitting all the buttons on my controller and it stays right on the PS logo.Any advice what I can do to get the backups to work.Thanks...

I am not sure what version they were using at that time.

I use 1.9.5 and my ps1 games work fine.
