hello, I am wondering if this would be a decent gaming set up? thanks alot

P35 motherboards are old now, and probably not the best for your money unless you're buying second hand. Get a P45 board like the EP45-UD3R.
Nothing wrong with the rest of the components except the case, which is a bit on the mediocre side for cooling, design and build quality. You will need a well ventilated case to run the HD4870. I would recommend you buy an NZXT Tempest instead.
