antivirus installer disappear after trying to run it and Services.exe problems

A friend asked me to install antivirus since hers has already expired. So I get an avira installer but it said something bout not being able to execute some files and it disappear after that. Downloaded another installer and result's the same.

But now when I started the windows an error came out saying
"Not enough privilege to run this program."

and another error...

Services.exe-Application Error
The instruction at "0x7c911f6c" referenced memory at "0x0065006c". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. Click on CANCEL to debug the program.

When i click on the start menu, it hanged. but i can still opened other folders on the desktop.need to restart a few times before i can acsess the start menu.

think that some sort of virus is the culprit..

using win XP by the way...
if there's a need for something else please let me know..
