Hi - I'm new to this forum but desperate for some help, I'm sure this question has been asked before but I have looked all over the net and can't seem to find an answer that solves my problem - I have a Nintendo DS and have just finished the Professor Layton game. I would like to connect to my wireless internet but each time I try I get an error message 51300 and a failure to connect. I am using a Linksy WPC54G router and I although I can find the WEP key (this is about 26 digits long with some letters and numbers) when I enter it and 'test connection' I get this message. From what I've read I know it has to be connected to #1 (is this the channel??) I am at my wits end as I cannot find a satisfactory answer anywhere. I would be grateful for any advice, I'm computer illiterate so if anyone can help you will need to explain it in the most basic language!!. Many thanks in advance.

Go here for Nintendo's guide on that error code. The wep key must be 26 digits long with #s 1-9 and letters a-f, no other characters or special characters accepted.

Hope this helps!

Hi and thanks very much for the link, I'd already looked on Nintendos site and read this info however the bit I'm unsure of is where it says,' verify they are using the WEP key in the number 1 (#1) slot' is this the channel?? mine says 1. Anyway even with all that info when I enter the WEP key which is 26 digits long with all the correct numbers and letters and then test the connection it still denies me access so there must be another way round this. Can you provide anymore help please.

It doesn't HAVE to be connected to #1.

In each program you tell the DS which connection to use.

Possible problems:

1. SSID is case sensitive and my exactly match your router.
2. It's easy to make mistakes entering a 26 Hex character WEP key, that's why I use ASCII WEP keys (13 character alphanumeric.)

If test connection is saying denied it's probably 1 or 2 above.

Hi and thanks for the info, unfortunately it's too technical for me tto understand!!. I have repeatedly entered the wep number that my router shows this consists of numbers 1-9 and letters A-F and still get the error 51300 message. Don't know what is SSID and ASCII and how do I get them please Apologies for being dense but I really haven't got a clue what to do!!
