Then you should find... http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/240341

And as far as booktype... http://www.afterdawn.com/glossary/terms/booktype.cfm

In a nutshell: Set Booktype to DVD-ROM so that your PS2 can read it.

Hope that helps.

I can't seem to change booktype with my NEC burner. I get up to the point when I click New Setting: DVD-ROM, and I click 'change' but it says: Failed! Reason: Parameter Value Invalid

I don't know why :(

Not that I really need to though... I think. Since my DVD+R's are read just fine by my PS2.

A lot of newer slims will play DVD+R fine.

Your burner may need newer firmware if your getting that error.
Is it an external Burner?

If your PS2 plays them fine, then I wouldn't worry about it.

Was mostly for older PS2 to get them to read the discs.

some drives just don't like the 16x disks. no other reason. I have a stash of old 8x disks for my 2 antique xbox samsung drives.. they won't even see 16x disks.

What I do is burn the 16x discs at 8x or 6x if you can. If you can burn at 4x, even better as this will give you best burning results.

I would say in your case that its your burner also. Unless I have the wrong specs for your burner, it is only capable of 8x max writing on DVD-R/+R

You should probably stick with 8x discs and burn them at 4x or at least give that a try.

You can try burning the 16x at 8x and see what happens.
