connecting sharp hdtv--laptop with intel 4500mhd graphics

hey
i'm facing some issues with this card. i'm connecting it to a sharp 32" hdtv whose native res is 1366x768 (http://www.sharp.co.uk/D44-HD-Ready/LC32D44EBK-32-Inch-HD-Ready-LCD-TV/invt/lc32d44ebk&bklist=)
my laptop (http://www.ebuyer.com/product/159426) screen is '16" HD acer cinecrystal LCD' - the native res for this screen is 1366x768 - and this is what the resolution is set at atm.
when i connect the laptop to the hdtv (using a hdmi->hdmi cable) i can only get a certain list of resolutions to choose for the tv - the native res is not one of them
at first i thought maybe the graphics card doesn't allow the output of 1366x768..but it must do because the laptop screen is at this res. :unsure:
so atm i'm watching 720p stuff on the hdtv but it's cropped a little - because the resolution is 1280x720
i've tried using powerstrip which was pretty scary :lol: - and i've updated the drivers for the gfx card - but still can't seem to fix it
please give feedback on how i can get the laptop to output a resolution of 1366x768 to the hdtv

it mentions not being able to output native res'
