Something is making this strange sound each time I start program. Actually it makes this sound constantly, like if one of the programs were checking everything I do and gives this "plop" noise all the time. Does anyone know what this could be? I figured it could be one of the firewalls or anti-virus programs, but none of them has any kind of sound options for this, atleast I didn't find any.
Programs that are always running are: SpyBot Search & Destroy, F-Secure Anti-Virus, F-Secure BackWeb, Kerio Firewall and some others like Windows Live Messenger. Windows XP as operating system.
Any idea where to start unraveling this mystery sound? Is there a program I can use to track the source of that sound down? Or any other way how to get that sound out of picture. It doesn't seem harmful, but it's starting to get annoying.
wouldnt be a windows sound effect? go to control panel and click on sounds and audio devices.you should be able to delete any sound scheme there.it is in sounds.
Yeah! That helped. It indeed was in Windows sound options in control panel. I just don't get it why it was on. I never tamper those options, and now it suddenly was on. I guess one of the updates did it. Well, no matter. Thanks to all of you!
