the ram is being used up by other peripherials, mostly video card. unless you use xp x64 or vista x64, you'll never see the full amount.

as for the processor, it could be power savings. it'll go to 2.4ghz when under load.

ps2: v7 scph-39001 - independence exploit - hdloader 0.8c - maxtor 300gb hdd
(+[__]%) psp slim ta-085v1: 6.60 PRO B10
wii (powered by bootmii/priiloader): 4.1u - d2x v10beta53-alt (base 56) - configurable usb loader v70r51/devolution r188 - wd scorpio black 7200rpm 320gig w/ ams venus ds2 enclosure

got a whole lot more to list . . .

Are you using 2x2GB or 4x1GB? The P31 and G31 chipset is limited to using two stick of memory if it's double sided (which almost all memory is nowadays)

As far as I am aware, 8600GT cards do not share memory.

False reading then, no card can draw on that amount of memory for one GPU.

It'll be 256MB, 512MB or 1GB.

The amount of Turbocache memory may be configurable in the BIOS, I'm not sure. Either way, Turbocache is completely pointless for a card like the 8600GT with dedicated memory onboard.
