Problem with colors in VLC

Hi there,

I am running XP and have VLC installed. When I try to play videos in VLC, I experience problems in color - namely, the smurf effect (where everything is blue). There is also the general problem of inverse coloring - white is yellow, blue appears red, and other weird things like that. My color quality is Medium 16 bit (the lowest possible) and my resolution is 1024 x 768. I can play these videos fine in WMP (except the overall quality isn't great - this is due to the quality of the videos), but VLC has better quality - the colors are just messed up. I've tried reinstalling VLC and restoring defaults, but nothing is working.

Additionally - I have another computer with almost all of the same settings as the one I primarily use which also has VLC installed. When I play these videos on my other computer, there are no problems.

Any ideas?
