this is my first ram upgrade and the manauls and hp site are very vague. I have an hp pavilion a1412n pc and it has:

2x 256mb hynix pc2-4200 ddr2 sdram 240pin sticks for a total of 512mb of ram.

I am aware that two different brands of ram do not work together but im not sure if the ram i ordered will worki ordered:

hynix 2gb ddr2 240pin pc2-6400 sdram.

Will the 4200 and 6400(i think its speed but im not sure)work together or will i have to remove the 2x 256mb before installing the 2gb?any help is apprecciated thanks ahead of time.
