Hey every, I have a HP Laptop with NVIDIA graphics. I am trying to connect my laptop to my hdtv to watch movies. I am connecting using HDMI but I am not getting any sound on the tv. I have even tried hooking a 3.5mm to 2 coax cable up along with the HDMI but still no sound. Anyone know why the sound isn't coming through, or how to fix the problem? Would VGA & The audio cable work?

make sure you change the audio device to the hdmi audio drivers instead of the onborad audio soundcard.
Then check that the drivers you are using on the video card don't have an issue, maybe try going to a latter or even earlier version, or at least doing a re-install.
I've never had any issues with ATI, but have had issues with the sound on nvidia cards.
