I've been searching but can't find a right answer. Is there a softmod for the ps2 or do you need a chip to play backups? Anyone point me in the most up to date guide? I just want to burn my backups and play them. No sense for usb loader.
Well, you haven't searched hard enough, apparently.
Swap Magic is pretty much your best softmod. If you've got a AR Max, Gameshark, etc, then you can also use those to put a save onto your memory card that'll weird out the PS2 and let you boot homebrew apps.
That said, I don't know much about any of that. All I know is that Swap Magic lets you boot your backups, so if that's your thing, then there you go.
