Any luck unlocking a Moto Zn5?

I just bought a Motorola Zn5, and I was looking to unlock it. My friend has one as well, but he says that he wasn't able to unlock his. Not sure what type of method he used, but I do know that he is not much of a tech person so I doubt his claim that the phone is not unlockable. But still, i ask this question: has anyone had any luck doing so, and what method did you use?
