Rmvb jerky video playback issue

first let me say that i have never ever faced this problem before.
i am trying to play rmvb files but the playback is all jerky & this problem started only yesterday, day before that everything was just fine.
i had k lite megacodec 345 installed (older version) which i am quite attached to, but after the problem i switched to k lite megacodec 475 (latest version), tried all the players, windows media, media classic of windows xp, media classic which comes with k lite megacodec.
just one difference, jerky video playback issue is minimum with media classic which comes with k lite megacodec but the problem still exists.
installed & uninstalled the codec packs many times to see if it makes any difference.
i also tried the stand alone realalt152lite (installed it)but the result is the same,

can someone help me out or give any suggestions,
