Wavy video playback from Panasonic HD Cam Recorder

Hello there,

Basically I have uploaded about 100 videos onto my PC from my Panasonic HDC-HS9 High Def Video Camera and, upon playback, the images come out extremely wavy as soon as the camera moves just a small amount. When you play it back using the camera screen, or plugged directly into the TV, the image is fine.

As for codecs, I don't know exactly which ones I have but I installed the K-lite Codec pack a month or two ago when I reformatted and haven't had a problem with video playback up till now.

Another interesting thing that may help is the playback is much 'wavier' (think being on an acid trip) using Windows Media Player and less so using Windows Media Player Classic. I do not know if this helps but it has led me to believe it's software side and not my camera playing up.

Sorry for the long post but I have lots of videos of great occasions and losing them is simply something I can not let happen.

To do any work with hi def, you need a very high powered computer.

Do you have a video card, or a video chip, in your computer?

Yes I have a very high powered computer with a 8800Ultra graphics card and a quad core processor with 4gb of RAM so computing power really isn't a problem (unless I need something higher than that...)

It might also be worth noting a used a program (that came with the camera) to copy the videos across and this is called 'HD Writer' which reportedly has issues and bugs of its own...
