Updating DSi Firmware?

I was planning on getting some DSiWare games but u have to update the firmware and I was wondering if this stops you from being able to use the Acekard 2i anyone know if it will?

Not this update (1.3) but in the future it probably will, there is also talk of DSi games having automatic updates included in the cart, like PSP.
