nero9 installation failure???

I have just purchased a copy of nero 9 and when installing it keeps failing saying
"installation failed cannot find shell"

sometimes this is at 20% or up to as much as 80% and it's doing my head in and i don't no how to fix this??? Have followed the nero website advice and used the clean tool and reboot and re-install and i get the same probs???? please help me before i get out the biggest hammer i own and take it to the computer......:(

I experienced similar problem with recent Nero 9 update.
Tech support absolute waste of time....
I discovered this update (and maybe Nero) is not compatible with Microsoft IE vers#8 also XP-Home's service pack#3.
I reverted to IE #7 removed Serv Pack #3 (returned to (vers#2).
For the most part all is well.....Again NO THANKS TO NERO SUPPORT.
