Good Evening I just receive my graphic card today( Asus EN9500GT Magic HDMI) I have it installed perfectly fine and displaying with HDMI on my samsung 720p Picture is beautiful but I just can't get any sound with the HDMI. if I hook it up with vga then I can here everything through my sound card but not under hdmi.

-Goto the device manager and goto "sound, video and game controllers"
-In there you should see at least 2 audio devices...one should be the soundwave, the other should be nVidia. Dissable the soundwave (and the realtek if it is enabled) and restart.
-If this does not fix it, you will have to goto the sound icon in control panel, in there you should find an option to do digital output only (I forget where it is, have not used XP in a while).

No that didn't work I think I need a internal S/PDIF connection on my mobo and I don't have one. But what if I use a hdmi female 2 dvi male adapter and run the sound through my sound card will that work? and will I still get the same video quality I don't care about digital surround sound I just want sound when I watch it in HD.

The motherboard is proprietary to HP systems, and therefore CPU upgrades are unlikely to work as there is no officially supported BIOS.
