From another thread but same info needed: OS, do you have a router, wireless or hard wired (check for it at port forward, some modem's too), any firewall (make client an exception), what port (over 10,000), ISP: http://www.azureuswiki.com/index.php/Bad_ISPs Also, what client and have you taken a speed test to set your upload to around 80%, if not, this is a good site: http://www.speedtest.net/ (And don't forget that most test's show kb and most client's show in kB) Is your client showing a NAT problem after these?

Kinda old but some info to read: http://www.dessent.net/btfaq/#what To start then, do you have a router and is it or your modem here: http://www.portforward.com/english/route...routerindex.htm Do you have any firewall, even Window's, and make your torrent program an exception in it if you do. Check that list and see if your ISP is on it because those are known provider's that block torrent's that you can't do anything about. What torrent program do you use, utorrent, Vuze, etc, some support an option like Protocol Encryption other's don't? Also, take that speed test and report the result's back and in your program, set the port you use to over 10,000.

Okay, not familar with Bittorrent but much like utorrent, I think, so we'll set up Vuze, set mode to advanced at tools>options>mode. Enable Protocol Encryption: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/395674 Set your port to 34450 (any over 10,000 is fine) at tools>options>connection, at tools>options>transfer, set maximum download to 0 and post your upload from that speedtest here, it show's in mb or kb (bits) and Vuze uses KB (bytes) so we'll need to convert it (1 KB = 8 kb) and use about 80%. Take the NAT/firewall test at tool's, is it ok? And, nothing to do with speed but you should use some kind of ip blocker like PeerGuardian or the Bluetack list in Vuze, PG won't work on Vista unless you use the beta but not all can.

i use the bittorent client from downloads.com bloat ware free and adware free used the port forwarding mentioned above enter your router settings and search settings for opening ports check bittorrents settins for the port it uses then open it on your router the use bittorrents speed settings to check if forwarded properly then only download torrents with good seeder to leach ratios if there are not enough good seeders then give up fast downloads
