Ps2 backup wont play with swap magic?

Hi guys, Bet you hav had this 1 a 1000 times!
Iv just got the swap magic discs wiv slide tool and tried to play a backup of crash nitro kart but all i get is the insert playstation disc after booting!
The file type im burning is the .mds using alcohol so cant see any problems there?
Also using the slide tool to open and swap discs so no problems there either!
Any sugestions?

Name of Game Crash nitro kart and fifa 09
Game Region PAL
Media Make maxwell
Media ID pro-X??
Disc Max Speed 1-16x
Speed of Burning 4x
PS2 Modification Swap Magic 2.0 + slide tool
PS2 Version V5 i think?
Game acquired fifa 09 copied from original disc and nitro is downloaded.
Rebuilded No
Rebuilding Software N/A
Burning Software alcohol 120%

Well, it seems like a bad DVD media. You should check the stickies in this section. One of them has a link to a site that compares burnable DVDs.

I believe Maxwell is pretty low on that list. You should usually go with high-quality brands like Taiyo Yuden or Sony.

Make sure you are locking the tray back using the slide tool before you launch the game.
