Hi all, quick question and apologies if this has been answered already.

Can I play my orginal Xbox 360 games on a modified console (ixtreme firmware) without being banned on Xbox live?

Appreciate if someone could explain how microsoft go about scanning the console and whether playing an orginal game rather than a backup makes any difference considering the drive has already been flashed.

The reason I ask is that I have already experienced an old console being banned by running a backup game in the drive, and would much prefer to keep away from xbox live if the same rule applies to original games running on a firmware-modified console.

Thanks in advance....:-)

It does apply .. run any out of region game or modify the console in any way and you will very likely get banned.. just because people are claiming a 100% success rate with the so called new firmware doesn't mean M$ aren't just collecting a nice long list for a big round of bannings soon.

I think it's not an automated procedure.. looking at the way it comes in waves every so often I think some person goes in and loads a file into the servers.. then boom.. big heap of bans. XD

I suppose it still raises the question of how MS detect that your xbox 360 is modded? Do MS detect for flashed firmware i.e. the drive or the fact the game is a backup or even both.

It would be ideal to play your originals on xbox live even if your console is modded. This surely highlights the fact that you own the originals and not causing infringment even if you make a backup copy of them.
