I have backed up several discs with violent or adult content that will not play on either of my dvd players; my Apex player asks for the parental control password then gives the message "bad disc" after I enter it, my Toshiba player just keeps flashing "loading". I've tried dvdxpress, Platinum in advanced mode, and dvdx rescue, have also tried different brands of media. They will play on my computer rom drive. I have Force ASPI installed.
Can anyone help? Thanx

I get this on some R rated movies when using my GE player. Fortunately it takes '99999' + Enter to get it to play. My old Cyberhome player wouldn't play them at all - exact results as you are getting.

The problem is in the menu.

Copy them using DVD Shrink in re-author mode, select the main movie title(s) only. This will remove the menu.

You could use DVD Decrtpter or Elby's CloneDVD with AnyDVD also. Anything to remove the menu.

Bigbadjim,

Perhpas you should try to remove the parental control from your DVD player temporarily to see if you still get the problem. Once you've removed the control. Turn off the player and then turn it back on.. then pop in your restricted DVD. If the problem disappears, then you have an issue with the player. If it persists..then it's probably the media.
