...or you could use a freeware app called DVDstripper. It removes the unwanted titles easily whilst maintaining a working menu for scene selection.

it looks ideal for you application.

You can use DVDshrink to do what you want. Just don't use the re-author button. Let shrink decrypt and compress. You can then adjust the extras with the compression ratio feature to get them compressed more and get better movie quality. Menus will work as long as you don't re-author.

Hi Delta,

as brian already mentioned, DVDStripper is a good tool for stripping unwanted extras away completely but still having a functional menu - DVD Shrink cannot be used to have a functional menu but stripped extras. Here's a guide for DVDStripper that also contains the links to download the required software

http://www.mpegit.net/dvdstripper_basic.php

Hope this works for you! Have fun!

The easiest way is to use Titleset Blanker
www.sysh.net/titlesetblanker.html to get rid of the extras, and anything else you don't want and then simply use DVD Shrink to do the compression if needed.

Simple, easy...

How does titleset blanker compare with dvdstripper?. I had not heard of "blanker" until you mentioned it.

Thanks in advance

Well, Titleset Blanker in wayyyyyyyyyyy faster than DVD Stripper, it takes me 2 minutes to get rid of all the extra cr@p that I don't need...

Basically, "blank out" everything but the movie and menu, if you are savvy with DVD structure this is very easy to spot...

DVD Stripper requires a certain version of DVD Decrypter, can't read from computer HD, and it takes way longer... maybe it is more versatile but other than that I really love Titleset Blanker... even though at first it is kind of confusing, but you'll get the hang of it. The nice part is that you can always hit the "Go back to original" if you mess up... and it will restore original files.

Let me know if you have any other questions as there is no guide for this software yet, but it is just too obvious.... rip and then decide what to get rid of, blank it out and replace with very small "dummy" files just to keep DVD structure working (software does it all for you) and then use DVD Shrink if needed, otherwise just burn...

My .02 cents
Adonis
