SoundTrax Recording Volume doesn't work

When using Line Input on my sound card for recording from vinyl records, the Level Meters on the SoundTrax wizard for LP Recording are in the red (almost the top) and the Sound Volune slider has no apparent affect on volume. It looks like SoundTrax has a problem working with my RealTek HD Audio hardware since if I run RIP Vinyl it has no problem adjusting the volume. I can't use external volume controls since my Technics amp only does a pass through of the Turntable input to REC Out.

Has anyone seen similar problems? Have you found a solution?
