i was looking to buy my first hdtv and was wondering if vizio any good? was looking to pay 700-900 dollars and at least 42 inch. looked at walmart nice picture, or should i go with anther brand?
i just got a vizio vw32l, its the 32" that was at my walmart for $477. I'm pretty satisfied. I'm no expert but i can tell a good picture from a bad one, and this one is decent at the least for the price.
you get what you pay for... I got a 32 inch as my pc monitor, grabbed it for $100.00 with some color issues.. Although if it didn't have the color issues or be known for having color issues it would be a great brand of tv

Hi,
Definitely go for vizio .If the cost is within your budget and it gives the best quality.
My friend has a Vizio and we use to play Halo3 which had an awesome picture. If you have an HD box you will get a great picture as well. There is a difference in pictures between brands, but I would say that the Vizio is a really good choice for the price based on what I have experienced. If you are looking to spend a little more for a little better quality I would look at LG LCD with 1080p and 120h. They make a really good product. Samsung is also a great TV. You will enjoy the vizio just the same there really isn't that much of a difference unless your going top end stuff for an entire entertainment center. Then your looking at compatibility issues, but there are always adapters. The most important thing is your TV is 1080p and 120h so your action movies are great :-)
Well I've got a few Vizios, older LCDs and newer plasmas. Two of the 32" plasmas needed the power supplies replaced (just made it at 10 months). Two out of 4 42" LCDs have developed what looks like a grey smear in the upper left hand corner after about 2 years of use.

If it's movies, plasma provides a superior experience without the artificial, video looking 'enhanced' 120hz. But it does work for sports and Wheel of Fortune.
