I have my PC (running Vista and with an nVidia video card) hooked to my TV with an HDMI cable. I've never had any problem watching video files like AVIs on my TV with this setup. Suddenly when I try to use VLC player, the video shows up fine on my monitor and I only get a black screen on the TV. I can open the AVI in WMP 11 or Nero Showtime, and it is viewable on both screens. But when I full screen it the sound and video are out of sync. The only things I've done before this started were installing the CinemaNow player and SoundTaxi (for UNRELATED reasons, believe it or not). What the heck could it be? Codecs? Software conflicts? I'm wiggin out. Any ideas are greatly appreciated before I break down and do a system restore.
