Subtitles not showing up on files converted with GotSent

I have tried using GotSent to convert .mkv files to .mp4. The picture quality is good, the sound quality is good, but the subtitles I try to embed are not showing up at all in the finished file. I extracted the subtitles using mkvextractgui, and I added them using the "Browse Subs" button on GotSent (and I made sure "Embed Subs" was checked).

What should I do to get this thing actually working right, I wonder?
