i am trying to install a third hard drive in my desktop computer, i have 2 320 gig hard drives and i want to add another 750 but when i turn on the computer it wont recognize the new one. i go to control panel then addmin tools then computer management then disk management but it doesnt show up. im a rookie at this.

Is it a SATA II drive? If it is make sure your motherboard can support 3GB/s SATA.

Make sure it shows up in bios; that port might be set to "dissabled". If the board is older and will not support SATA-II, the drive may have jumpers to switch it to SATA-I mode.

im very new at this,i dont know how to see if it shows up in bios & how would i shut the disable off? sorry but this is the only way i can learn is to ask questions

Depending on the mainboard, you press "DEL" or "F10" or something else right after you turn the system on. It would be a good idea for you to read the manual for your mainboard/motherboard (same thing, just diferent names).
