I had one ps1 game so i had one backup. the game was spyro.
now my disk cracked all the way through then i remembered since that was my only ps1 game i cant run the backup. so is there a way to run ps1 backups on a ps2 without a modchip or ps1 game or gameshark/cheat device.
I am sure you must know the answer to your questions... but you want clarification.. right!
NO, you can't. You need to mod your PS2 in some manner, whether it be a softmod, or hardmod.
What version PS2 do you have? Could maybe help you out with some types of mods for your PS2.
If you have an Original "Agent under fire" or similar games that have lots of ELF files on them, and turn them into a BOOT disk to install fmcb 1.8 and then use ESR to play backups.

If you have a V9 or higher PS2, once your ps2 is modded you could use psxlauncher.elf to play your PS1 backups

i have an scph-7500.
i never modded it because i dont really understand how. and none of the tutorials were any bit strait forward.
Also i need a gameshark wich gamestop and all the other gamestores dont sell anymore. Maybe if someone can send me a memory card with freemcboot i can copy it to my ms and use it.

Well how it works is, you go to this forum, and pm one of the members in there from the USA if yours is SCPH-75001
You send them a memory card and pay postage to them and back to you again.
Core2kid is good and a few others.

You don't need to convert an ELF to irx. No where does it say to do that.
You need to swap the NETGUI.ELF or DRIVING.ELF or one of them to ulaunch.elf or Cogswap. I think uLaunch.elf is better, cause then you can just access a usb drive with the fmcb files on them and install it.
Games like Splinter Cell, SOCOM etc that have more than one ELF file on the disk should work.
You have to put the PS2DVD game in your PC and explore the disc to see what ELF files are in the game.
I don't really know of a list except for what is posted in threads about it.
There is the thread posted at 1emulation.com and another I posted on sksapps.com forum under tutorials.
There are certain games that use multiple elfs, like splinter cell, 007 games, socom.
Maybe do a google search on ps2 games with multiple elfs.
A demo disk may work also.
