Free internet on iPhone?

I was arguing with this one guy who keeps insisting that there is an app in Installer that lets you use free internet if your iPhone is unlocked and using T-Mobile sim card. I told him the only way to use the internet on an unlocked iPhone is changing APN so you can use other T-Mobile services like t-Zone which is a lot cheaper. However, this guy is still strongly convinced that there is a way to use the internet totally free (he said he has seen a person who did this using some app on Installer).

Can you confirm this? I just want to stop arguing. I obviously did some searching but couldn't find.
