.aac subtitles?

First thing, I'm a total noob when it comes to subtitles. I have a video (.mkv) with a weird subtitle file which is .aac (I've ripped it with mkvextractGUI). I've searched in google but came up with the audio file. I wanted to convert the video for portable media use but my video converter won't accept .aac subtitles. Just .ass and other things that I don't know. Is there a way to make it .ass or at least make the video and the subtitles in one so that my video converter can convert with the original fonts and everything.

EDIT: My bad. I ripped the audio file accidentally and tought it was the subtitle. But still. Is there a way to make it a hard sub so that when I want to convert it, the font and the karaoke effects are still the same?
