Hello! I'm terribly sorry for coming here and asking for help in my first post, I know how rude it must seem but I'm having a little problem and I'd just like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction as to what my problem may be.
I've burned plenty of games before, my PS2 is modded. Its very old but still kicking and is still playing back ups aslong as the disks are in good condition (albeit with slow loading at times). I recently got a new computer and have attempted to burn a game ive played before with no trouble. Im using Alcohol 120 but I tried DVD decrypter aswell upon my first failure. The iso burns perfectly, I burned at 4x. I turned off all applications during the burn process. After the burn was completed i put it in to my PS2 and it /was/ detected as a PS2 disk. I hit confirm to load the game and the screen goes black as if to load it, but then it returns to the browser screen where my memory cards and current disk are displayed. The DVDs are 8X, 8.5gig/DVD+R. The brand is apparantly very poor quality, the back of them looks a bit chipped and i've heard poor reviews but I would have thought if disk quality was the issue, they would not have burned correctly in the first place or it would not recognise the disk as a PS2 game? When checking the contents of the burned CD on my computer, the contents appear to have burned correctly. I've used Verbatim (DVD-R) and Pleomax (DVD+R) before, the Pleomax ones were incredible but im wary of spending all my money on DVDs if they wont work, Ive already wasted my money on 10 of these things and all theyre good for now is coasters. I've been seeing horror stories about the actual burner model itself being the issue and pray this is not the case as I simply cant afford a new one. Does this problem seem familiar to anyone? I would be very grateful indeed for any input that could be offered.
