Basicly I can't find a straight answer on Nero's site anywhere. I have Nero 8 Ultra. I'm mainly looking for the ability to rip un-protected Blue-rays. Even though Nero 9 is out now, does anyone know if the blue ray plugin they're selling for $9.99 also work for Nero 8, or if not, where can I find the Nero 8 blue ray plug in?

All commercial Bluray's are protected and only AnyDVD HD can rip them.
If you do have some HD home video burnt to a blank BD-R disk (an un-protected Bluray) then if you have Vista (or the Toshiba UDF drivers installed on XP)you can see the disks contents in explorer and drag and drop them to your HDD.

Correct me If I'm missing something.

Actually I do have one more related question. Would AnyDVD HD put a protected movie onto my Harddrive in a format that Nero 8 could then burn to a regular DVD R? Just the movie of course, not the menus and special features.

There is no "Main Movie Only" mode in ANYDVD HD for Bluray but it will rip the disc to your HDD. (Often around 30 to 40 ish gig file but sometimes less).
I do not believe Nero 8 is capable of Re-authoring a Bluray to anysize, let alone a DVD.

What you can do though is rip the movie to HDD, then use Clown_BD to stip out just the main movie, an audio track and a subtitle if required. This should result in a much smaller file but could be anywhere from about 17 gig to 30 gig.
To get it down to DVD size (and I would suggest dual layer DVD-9) you could use BD-Rebuilder or Convert X to DVD.

I hope that answers your question fairly well.
