I bought these last week for $26.99 CDN /5 pk.
Check local stores like best buy and Future shop once and a while as they go on sale here and there...
Why would we spend $5.40 per disc when we are already spending $3-$3.50 per disc?

Sooorrrryyyy superstar.
I was looking in comparison to the first post - $4.5 US per disc. The ones I bought are memorex - a brand ive been using for years....
Do you have to pay shipping on those philips ones? Free shipping to Canada?

The ones I bought from shop4tech still have free shipping. Not for sure if they are free to Canada though.

I believe that the norm for any new Blu-ray that is coming out to be larger than 25 gigs even for just the movie itself.

After putting the movie on your drive and removing everything but the movie, the size usually comes out to 21.6 Gb.

$25.99 is the lowest I have found. I'm not for sure why you would even buy a 50gig blank for that price. And why does Sony think that they will sell any of these at that price. 50gig blanks should be no more than $10.

Checked that out and don't see it. Try posting a link if there are good deals.
I have found 50gb discs for $13.50 but I can't seem to find any $9 discs.

I bought a 25pk of TW BD-25 discs from ebay for $41 USD ($1.64 each). The brand is made by Mitsubishi and they seem to work just as well as Phillips or Memorex.

Did you make the seller an "offer" for $41 and he accepted ?

The Buy it now price is around $70. I've watched several of these auctions and they all seemed to end around $41 so the best thing to do is bid.
Cheers
