As the tiles of the topic states. Is there a way to load a PS2 Backup with using only the CD version of Swap Magic 3? The reason i asked is because when i recieved both of the Discs, the DVD one couldnt be read by the PS2 but the CD version could. Since i cant utilize the DVD version is there a way that i can play my backup DVD ps2 games with using the CD version of Swap Magic? Whether it be by a USB drive or something of that nature. I am not willing to spend another 40 bucks for another set or buying a mod chip. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
Requirements:
A Ps2 (any will do I think).
Swap Magic CD ( I don't think the version matters, I use 3.6)
A real ps2 game DVD-5 (High TOC size is a must! Like Devil May Cry or Xenosaga 2).
CD loader (as a bootable disc). You can find this on sksapps.com
A PS2 DVD backup game.
1. Boot the SM CD version
2. Boot CD loader
3. When CD loader appears, eject CD Loader properly (DON'T USE THE SLIDE CARD OR TOOL METHOD.)
4. Insert the real DVD PS2 game. The screen should load some numbers of the bottom like 4.37GB, when its done reading the disc.
5. Press 'X'
6. Screen will ask you, Boot EA method or something. Now you replace the game with your backup, using the Swap Magic method (I.E Slide card or slim tools).
7. Press 'X' again and the game should boot.
Thank you for the help but i seem to have another problem now. I bought another laser for my slim and replaced it, and tested the DVD again, and it didnt work. That is how i knew for sure the dvd was the problem. Then after a couple tries of me trying to get the DVD to work, the ps2 didnt spin the disc at all. In fact it looked like the Laser just stopped working. I swapped it out for my older one, then i get this loud noise and clicking, and it is not spinning my disk again, do you know what this is?
I got the laser fixed. Now i used this guide to try and make my mem card boot backups. I finished the tutorial, did everything on the list. the thing is, when i put the backup games in, it starts to load, and then hangs on a black screen. Any ideas on that?
