while on facebook,i was moving my cursor across the page, using my touch pad, it hit an ad and the ad popped up on my screen. this happened yesterday and i cannot get rid of it. i ran my avg and spybot. the little window with the ad is still here. i ran hijak this but now i am looking at it and have no clue what i'm supposed to do next.

moved to correct forum. have you tried restarting the computer? have you tried system restore in system tools?

my computer has been restarted several times. this happened yesterday lol spybot found something called HideExec.FF said it removed it..so maybe this is something else? restore will remove even if it is a virus etc??

has for me then retry avg & spybot after both updated & immuninized. what version are both of those programs?

i did the system restore. the window is gone. my avg is 8.5 spybot was removed with restore. but i just dl'd it last night..current version..thank you so much :)

update & immuninize it. download ccleaner if don't have it from this link http://www.filehippo.com/download_cclean...db724b33ea39ae/ run it including doing issues & enable it in options so it cleans windows each time you startup. after ccleaner then run spybot & avg.

ok did all you said. then ran avg last . same program it said was removed last night..again said it was just removed

looks like its ok :) thinking of dropping IE lol having firefox on my windows side. i also have ubuntu on here and i LOVE it...no problems..
