Hello,

I've just set up the Belkin USB hub so I can connect my 500Gb media /player / HDD to the network without having to cart it back and forwards fromt he TV to the PC.
While the transfer rates are VERY low - (500k-2Mb per sec) it's still ideal for my needs.... with help.

I've got my favourite bittoorent downloader downloading to the main Pc then transferring once completed.

What I want is to automate the moving of the downloaded files to the correct folder on the Media drive.

For example:

check 'C:\downloads' every 5m and transfer any folders that contain .mp3 files to g:\music and any folders containing .avi to the 'g:\films' folder

I've tried the 'at' command in cmd but this wont recognise the G:\ drive as it's a virtual drive n the USB netowrk hub.

Can someone point me at some software or windows commands that can help.

Much appreciated.

One thing: having read a great many forums there are always a lot of 'why not just get a...' [insert new piece of hardware here]. Can we skip those please? I want a solution for the hardware that I've got.

Thanks very much
varnull

It's a virtual drive?.. it doesn't actually exist?

dunno.. maybe write a batch file.. or look at going about it differently. Most NAS systems require user interaction or they are wide open to the whole internet.

You have to install a piece of software on any PC's that use the hub (max of 15 - so a lot less than the 127 possible with normal USB connections).

I think what it's doing is assigning an IP address to the hub but then telling any hoardware that it's located on the PC with the software and to access it from there - it then handles any forwarding requests.
