m3 ds simply won't work

I followed the guide and dragged and dropped _system_ , moonshl , _ds_menu , and _ds_mshl.nds to the root directory of my memory card but when I turn the ds on all that pops up is "loading" on the top screen. The only thing I can think of is that my memory card is damaged but I thought I would ask before I went out and bought a new one
