I've tried more utilities and programs and encoders than Carter had pills.

Here's my deal:

Native files are in their elemental form. m2v video mp2 audio.

I can mux em into mpgs or vob files just fine...BUT...

The video natives resolution is 544x480.

Some standalone players play these fine...but some do not, so I willing to transcode to get true 720x480 DVD compliant files.

However, I can't get the audio synch right then.

If I mux em without transcoding, the audio synch is fine in either VOB or MPG files.


I would like to know if anyone has found a tool to transcode the resolution of VOB files.

Here's why:

I can use IFO edit to mux the mv2 & mpa files into VOB's then use TMPGEnc DVD Author to edit, create chapters and even add multiple titles menus etc.

Of course it doesn't recognize 544x480 as compliant so I patch them which works well enough except for the players that can't disply 544 properly like I started out saying.

So what I'd like to accomplish is rip the files, make VOB's out of em, transcode the VOB's to true 720 horizontal resolution, author project, burn.

If a different order is called for I'm open to suggestions on that as well, but based on days of various methods and knowing how good 544 burns all I really want to add to the mix is transcoding to the 720 horizontal resolution.
