Just switched over to ubuntu from windows XP about 3 weeks ago and Im having trouble with port forwarding. I never had trouble with it on windows but now it just doesnt seem to be working. My network is set up like this phoneline > dsl router > wireless router (just recently switched over to wireless since i got my ps3 so it might be the wireless router too).

I have my DSL router DMZing my wireless router and I have my wireless router DMZing my pc. Not too sure what I'm doing wrong here. On Vuze i get this message after testing ports

"Testing port 28899 ...
NAT Error - Connect attempt to *IP removed* (your computer) timed out after 20 seconds. This means your port is probably closed."

the port was there by default, I didnt change it all

Almost certainly your router setup. If your computer's IP address has changed from what the forwarding table thinks it is, your router will be forwarding ports to nowhere...

Edit:

Ok, you're using DMZ. The wireless router is just a bridge, putting the DMZ as the wireless router won't do a thing, just make the DSL router directly target your PC's IP address. And then disable DMZ once you get it working and just forward the single port. DMZ is just asking for trouble, if someone taught you to just put your PC in the router's DMZ (and particularly if it was a Windows user), they should be shot. ESPECIALLY when you advertise your external IP address as you have. Edit it out if you don't want your computer hacked.
