Hi, I've got this GREAT Graphics Card and I used it in my old PC. I wanna build a new PC and use the card in it but since the graphics card seems to plug in to the AGP Slot, I need a MotHErBoard that has AGP.
I live in Germany and they have a good electronics store here called conrad.de they have some good motherboards at good prices but i need one with an AGP Slot. I looked at some pictures of motherboards that they sell online and though they don't mention it most of them look like they have an AGP Slot.

Is that blue Slot with the red arrow AGP on there???
Are there even still good new motherboards with AGP?Can you guys tell me some? Actually, Is My Graphics Card even good? It's an ATI Radeon X1600 PRO with HDMI and that SAPPHIRE thingy.
I want a motherboard with AGP Slot and AMD AM3 Support. Does that exist?

Thanks for any help
Philip

Sorry AGP is a dying breed.

I had the x1600 in my old machine when the card went I could only find a used AGP card in the $10 bin.

AM3 and AM2 are both PCI-Ex. Best for you to move onto a new card like the HD4800 series.

Picture is kinda small so I can't see what that is, but my guess is PCI-Ex.

No, your graphics card is dire by modern standards. The X1600 Pro is a low-midrange budget card. The X1600XT is the mid-high end card of its era, the big boys back then were the X1800GTO and X1800XT. The X1900XT, X1900XT-X, and latterly, X1950XT-X both annihilated them, and this was back in 2006.
At the end of 2006, the 8800GTX came out which trounced even the X1950XT-X. Right now, a card that performs better than the 8800GTX can be had for £70/$110, and is considered a low-midrange card.
AGP is also a very old technology, it was superceded by PCI Express in 2004, and by 2006, PCs built with AGP were unusual.
Realistically, you should ditch your GPU and use PCI Express (Which is what that blue slot is, it is NOT AGP)

Thanks for the help. So I should get rid of my card? I saw that lots of stores still sell AGP GPU's. Like this one (again from Conrad.de):"POWERCOLOR HD3650 1024MB GRAFIK. AGP" they sell it for 69.95 Euros wich is like $97. If I sell my "ATI Radeon X1600 PRO" on ebay, how much money should I sell it for?

As much as you can get really, it's practically worthless.
The HD3650 is ok, but 1GB on an AGP card is really pointless. For one the HD3650 is too slow to make use of any more than 256MB, and for two the AGP bus is limited to effectively harnessing any more than 256MB of video memory anyway.

The right person might give you $20 for it, but that would be lucky.

ok, im thinking about buying this one:"SAPPHIRE HD4850 1024MB DUAL-SLOT PCIe" for 140Euros thats like 195$. Is that any good?
And whats the difference to this: "MSI HD4650 1024MB GRAFIKKARTE PCIE" because thats just 75Euros (104$).

That's expensive. The HD4850 is also being phased out (or at least downplayed) due to the more efficient and cheaper HD4770, which performs about the same. Both are considerably better performers than the HD4650, as in triple the speed. Why are you even considering AGP though when PCI express is so much cheaper and is the only option you have with new technology?

I'd stay away from MSI. They cut corners wherever they can.
As for the 4850 card you found...it costs more than most 4870 cards...you can get the Gigabyte 4870 1GB for about $190.
