1.) Video is good for a laptop...It's not just the MB/GB tht makes it good, it is the core. This configuration has good amounts of both.

2.) I have not tried this yet, but I have seen some guides on PC-OSX. The only problem I expect would be with getting drivers.

2.1) Vista is terrible. Windows 7 is still just RC1, and is already more stable. You might consider using it instead.

2.2) I know the adobe suite is not very good in Windows...but it might be just as bad or worse in Mac.

2.3) Depending on your truck's headunit, you might have inputs for ipod, mp3 player, or external cd changer. If you have such an input, then you should be able to connect your laptop to it.

2.4) There are blutooth OBDII readers that you can buy. They connect to the plug under the steering wheel, and give full readings on everything that is going on as well as any trouble codes (check engine light).

Head units are hard to recomend since there are so many different designs and styles available. What looks cool to me might look corny to you.

Crutchfield has a good selection of head units plus a search feature that can filter out units that don't support AUX input. The only problem with this is that it includes units with "aux input support". This means that you can buy a seperate cable to enable AUX input...but it does not come with the cable.

Personaly, I like http://www.crutchfield.com/p_023KWEST38/...tml?o=p&tp=5684 because it supports everything I could want, can have AUX input, and can even support bluetooth connectivity with the add-on piece.

I do not have that headunit, it was not available when I purchesed my head unit. I am using an older Blaupunkt unit, but it fits my needs as it still has the AUX input.

I can recomend some speekers, but I will need more information about your truck. Is is the extended cab? If so, does it have the rear third door?

Dash adapter:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_120993300/I...it.html?tp=3121

AUX input cable for headunit:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_469BLAU8RC/...LAU8RCA&tp=1672

Dash Speakers:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065S45/Bost...tures_and_specs (ideal, but out of stock)
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB401/Po...tures_and_specs (next best thing overall)
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108429I/Inf...tures_and_specs (better quality sound than choice two, but less efficient)

Front Door Speakers:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_065S65/Bost...tures_and_specs (ideal, but out of stock)
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107DB651/Po...tures_and_specs (next best thing overall)

Rear Pillars:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KFC415C/...tures_and_specs (not great speakers, but 4x10 is a rare size with few options available)

Subwoofers (would need to buy or build box for behind the seats):
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_130TSW3084/...8D4.html?tp=111

Amplifier:
http://www.crutchfield.com/p_020DPX2251/...tures_and_specs

...Of course you will still need speaker wire (smaller guage number is better; 12 guage is better than 20 guage) If you go with the subs, you will also need wiring for them.

You also might want some tweeters. I like these a lot: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_108109T/Inf...=107&tab=review

Such a system can also be upgraded to include a seperate amplifier at a later date, but I think the head unit will make enough power to keep you happy.
