I am stumped - any good advice would be GREAT!!! :-)

Here's the situation:

I got a new PC a few months back (specs are below) and I was really annoyed with the onboard MOBO sound. It would buzz and crackle and bleep incessantly (system noise), and it would grow even louder when I scrolled or dragged and dropped. I bought a Sound Blaster Audigy SE, and that's where my problem started. It would sound GREAT with the Audigy... for the first 30 minutes or so after I booted up. After that, the sound would disintegrate into static, and the PC would eventually lock up, requiring a reboot. I bought a USB sound adapter, thinking that perhaps my monstrous graphics cards were hogging the PCI bus or something. However, my new USB sound card is doing the same thing as the Audigy. I am stumped... PLEASE HELP ME!!! Thanks.

3 different sounds cards with same issues means windows problem or more likely a motherboard issue. as motherboard is still under warranty then have it replaced. if still have issue then is a vista problem.

Should I try installing XP 1st? I hadn't done it before because I want to use all my 6gb ram, and I only have 32 bit XP.

I always use a linux livecd to test my hardware. If the soundcard works good under linux, you can rule out a hardware problem.

How to dual boot vista and xp

You can also install xp inside vista if you don't want to dual boot. You need the free virtualbox software.
