HELLO EVERYONE, I NEED SOME HELP!! I AM TRYING TO CONNECT MY PS2 OR PS3 TO MY SAMSUNG T240HD MONITOR, WHAT DO I NEED? WHEN I CONNECT VIA COMPONENT CABLES IT SAYS NO SIGNAL, WHAT DO I DO?? PLEASE HELP!
Have the component cables hooked up to another monitor/tv before?
If so you need to change some display settings.
PS3 will automatically do it for you. Here's the procedure.
Turn off ps3. Turn it on again while keep touching the power button. Hold it for about 3-5 seconds until you heard a beep. Then let go. Wait for a few seconds, PS3 will detect the signal from PS3.
If you're using either component or HDMI cable, above method will work. Also you should be using HDMI cable to get the best out of PS3 & such SamsungHDTV. Buy.com has it for 4.69$ with free shipping. You definitely should buy it.
Check audio settings (select component if you're using component cable) in PS3 if you got no sound.
Please reply back to this forum if it works. I'm researching if Samsung T240HD works on PS3 with 1080P full resolution in game mode.
I just return one LG W2316V-PF monitor to bestbuy which says it supports 1080p yet I get only standard resolution in PS3 game mode.

Now, connect the PS3 to the Monitor with the HDMI-DVI Cable.(Obv. Hdmi to ps3 and DVI to monitor).
Use the original cable given with the PS3 (The red, wite and yellow RCA) and connect that to your speakers, while connecting the other side to the PS3. Turn on the PS3, monitor and speakers. If there is no signal, you may have one of 2 issues. 1. Your monitor simply cant support a PS3 Picture, or you have to manually change the resolution. First you have to find out what the optimum resolution is for your monitor. U need to manually change it while its hooked onto your normal TV. (display settings, 1080p or 720p). the TV screen wil go blank but thats ok. it just means the tv cannot support the HD signal. after u get it working on ur monitor, u then need to establish sound. jst go to sound settings, and choose the RCA option (red, yellow and white cords) as opposed to HDMI. hope that helps
