I just got new Logitech X-540 5.1 Surround Speakers and when I choose 5.1 channel speaker option in my Realtek HD Audio Manager (I'm using onboard sound), it doesn't seem to exactly work.

When I press the little play button that plays a sound out of every speaker, it only plays it out of the left and right. That's it. Nothing comes out of the center, sub, or rear left and right speakers when the sound is supposed to come out.

But then when I play a song or watch a video, all the speakers work (the rears only w/ matrix mode on).

The problem doesn't really have any effect on it's actually working because as I said, it does just fine when I play a song or video. But I can't really tweak it at all w/ the audio manager if it the manager itself doesn't detect the speakers.

Is there something wrong here, or is it supposed to do that?
