Hi

I would like to be able to up the refresh rate of my monitor.

I have a X20WG-1080P 20" LCD and a NVIDIA GeForce 9400GT card

My monitor is currently at 59 Hertz and I have the options for 60 and 87 Hertz. (I have "Hide modes that this monitor cannot display" checked.)

When I try to raise the refresh rate to 75 Hertz the monitor screen goes black and says "Out of range."

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That is probably why 75 Hertz is hidden...the monitor can't display it. Try 87htz.

75 Hertz isn't hidden.

And the only options it gives me are 59,60, and 75. That's with or without the hidden box checked.

OK, I looked at your post again and went to the manufacturer's website for your monitor.

Resolutions
Ultra High WSXGA+ 1680x1050/60Hz,
1280x720/75Hz, 1024x768/75Hz

Scanning Frequency
Analog: 24-82 kHz (H), 50-75 Hz (V)
Digital: 31-80 kHz (H), 50-75 Hz (V)

What video resolution are you trying to run?

The monitor (apparently) doesn't support 87Hz.

It could also be that your video card's 75Hz is outside of what the monitor can handle (hence the out of range) message.

If you video card is capable of 72 Hz (VESA standard), see if that works.
