My computer is in my room and all my internet stuff, including the modem and router. But, my problem is that my ps3 is in the living room. My router works but my ps3 only recieves low signals from my router, between 25% to 60%. Certain games lag while Im playing online, like the new UFC game. So, i was thinking of getting a splitter and wall jack to run a cat5 or cat6 ethernet cable to my living room so i wont have the lag in my games. The living room is about 50 feet away from my room. My ? is, if i get a splitter/switch and run this cable that far, will i loose any speed or signal to my computer if both the ps3 and my computer are running the same time. I have comcast highspeed internet and my modem only has 1 jack for the ethernet.

No such thing as a "splitter". Ethernet doesn't work that way.

A wired connection will always be better signal quality and faster than wireless.

If you have more than one port on your router (and you should), you can make the hardwired connection there. 50 feet is well within the limit.

Otherwise, you will need an ethernet switch between the router and the PS3, or put the switch behind the router and make all your connections there.
